April’s super full moon will be intense, this powerful ritual will help you get through it

We are due for another super moon, the second one in a row, and this month, it will happen in the sign of Libra on Tuesday, April 7 at 7:35 p.m. Pacific Time. An intense luminaire not only for its close proximity to Earth, it will be a catalyzer for big change through surprises.

Why? Exactly on this day, planet warrior Mars will be separating from an intense conjunction with Saturn only to form a square wild child Uranus, infusing the energy of this full moon with a restless, nervous energy. To be fully honest, this is an intense combination that will make a lot of us feel a serious urge to break free and rebel against the rules that have been imposed on us.

Even more so, a Mars-Uranus square can create disruption and conflict in the form of surprises, most likely in a certain relationship since this realm is the essence of Libra, the sign where this full moon is. As these revelations quickly manifest, we will all be feeling more emotional and sensitive than usual; especially as we realize that breaking free isn’t an option right now.

This emotional intensity is brought by Neptune forming a quincunx aspect to this moon. Which means that whatever comes during this moon will not be up for negotiation, we will just have to accept it for what it is. So instead of wanting to fix and change whatever happens during this lunation, we must save our energy knowing that, as much as we try, we will not be able to make it go away.

Instead, we must strive to integrate it and make peace with it. It is my opinion that regardless of how hard a combination of aspects can be, there are always powerful allies available to us that can guide us through the difficult moments.

In the case of this specific configuration, we do have love goddess Venus—the ruler of this Libra full moon—on our side forming two harmonious trines with Saturn and Mars. Very recently, Venus entered the mutable air sign of Gemini, a placement that only helps us go with the flow, it also highlights the sign placement of Mars, who is newly in Aquarius.

Thankfully, this full moon also features a very positive sextile aspect between Mercury and Jupiter as well as Mercury and Pluto, helpings us connect the dots between our thoughts, our expression, and all the transformation that is currently unfolding in our lives.

With this in mind, a grounding ritual could really use a crystal that relates to Venus in order to call in her energy. Turquoise is a Venusian stone that has been used by ancient queens and kings alike for its protective and sophisticated feminine energy.

Start by meditating with this crystal to connect with it, ask for her help and guidance as you make room for her luminous energy inside of you. Once you have established a connection to its spirit, grab a piece of paper and a green pen and start writing down what you want to leave behind—what no longer serves you.

As you close your eyes, imagine the nervousness and sorrow that this moon might have brought to you. Feel it. Accept it. Make peace with it. Once you feel ready, set the piece of paper on fire as you imagine this feeling of sorrow being evaporated with the flames. Once the full piece of paper is burned, hold the Turquoise close to your heart as you express your gratitude to her along this journey.

Note to readers: While it’s better to do this ritual before the full moon peaks, it’s still helpful to do it up to four days after the day of the full moon. If you don’t have a piece of Turquoise, a piece of Rose Quartz would also work as it’s also a Venusian-type of stone.

With love,
