Pluto in Aquarius 2024-2044: Meaning & Horoscopes for all 12 Zodiac Signs

The Meaning of Pluto in Astrology

Every time I talk about Pluto I say the same thing: The fact that Pluto was demoted from “planet” to “minor planet” does not ameliorate its effects. As the last planet of the solar system (that we currently know of, which could actually change during the Pluto-in-Aquarius 20-year transit), Pluto rules collective themes. It rules everything that is massive, dark, and hidden. Pluto rules the collective unconscious as well as the collective shadow. The word “plutocracy” comes to mind now as Pluto also rules the powerful people who oversee entire countries or even industries.

Due to its glacier-pace movement, Pluto rules entire generations and complete epochs. If you want to study the story of the key time periods, you take a look at where Pluto was and what it was doing at any given time. For example, to be able to predict when humanity experiences radical change and enormous rites of passage, you take a look at the Saturn-Pluto cycle. The latest and perfect example of this was 2020, which featured the latest conjunction between Saturn and Pluto, in the sign of Capricorn, which manifested as a global pandemic.

Bottom line: everything ruled by the zodiac sign where Pluto is at any given time will become completely transformed. However, this transformation is gradual, as Pluto visits each zodiac sign for over a decade. Pluto spends between 11 and 30 years in a zodiac sign due to its irregular orbit (the reason why it was demoted), spending the least amount of time in Scorpio and the most amount of years in Taurus.

During the time Pluto was in Capricorn, between 2008 and 2023, Pluto transformed what goes below Capricorn’s umbrella: money, resources, career trends, big companies, and big money. Between 2024 and 2044, Pluto will transform everything that goes beneath the Aquarius umbrella: knowledge, technology, social trends, and humanitarian causes. This major transformation goes from what we produce and buy to what we learn, champion, and believe in!

Past Pluto in Aquarius Transits That Inform the Future

  • Scientific & technological breakthroughs: Astronomical discoveries that are mind-altering.  Example: Copernicus's discovery about the Sun being the center of the solar system, which was originally refuted by the scientific community at the time. The discovery of Uranus—the modern planetary ruler of Aquarius by German astronomer William Herschel occurred in 1781. Overall, Pluto in Aquarius is known for creating mind-shattering events as well as revolutions of knowledge!

  • A complete transformation of the way we relate to the air element. The air element relates to the mind, our thought process, as well as how we communicate. How we receive, process, and share information will change and this goes beyond social media. With the planet of transformation changing the way we think, we will no longer be okay with truly expressing how we think about everything—life, religion, politics, and the universe. Little by little, we will become very opinionated!

  • Social Revolution: The last time Pluto was in Aquarius, the American & French Revolutions occurred. If we pay attention to politics worldwide, people seem to be frustrated with their governments. As it happened back between 1778 and 1798, we will see a resurgence of humanitarian and socialist rights. However, because the way we process information has changed, the revolution will most likely occur online. After all, Aquarius rules the internet.

Anchoring of the Age of Aquarius

Do you remember how back in 2012, people were talking about the end of the Mayan Calendar being “the end of the world?” That was actually the end of the Age of Pisces, a two-thousand-year time period in which religion surged around the Earth, initiating us into the “herd sacrificing mentality.”

In 2012, a major seed was planted, when we turned the page to the new era, which is Aquarius, as the ages travel backwards through the zodiac.

Two major Aquarian activations have occurred since then, for example:

⚡️The December 2020 Great Conjunction between Jupiter & Saturn.

⚡️As well as the Saturn-Uranus 2021 squares that began destroying the old & outdated foundations of our society.

In 2024, we have another major Aquarian activation. The entrance of Pluto, the planet of transformation, radical change, and the shadow, into Aquarius! Pluto will stay in Aquarius for the next twenty years, until September 1, 2024, anchoring the Age of Aquarius here on Earth. However, because the ages are longer, this age is set to develop over the next 2,000 years!

If you have any cardinal placements (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) in your chart, you experienced a two-year Pluto transit at some point since 2008.

If you do not in which zodiac sign is your Pluto, you can find out by entering your birth data in this birth chart calculator. While we all have Pluto in our charts, we each have a specific—and profound—relationship with this planet. If you’re interested in exploring your own relationship with Pluto, book a reading below.

Aries Rising: Eleventh House

Community - Friendships - Hopes & Dreams

The groups you belong to will completely change over the next two decades! You will find out who your real friends and collaborators are, and unfortunately, there might be a couple of fallen downs. However, this can’t be controlled or changed and the sooner you let those connections go, the sooner you will find your true tribe!

Slowly but surely, you will notice that you no longer want to just “hang out,” you want to belong to a meaningful group of individuals you have something important in common. Your contributions to society, most likely relating to your career, become increasingly important now. A form of activism is crucial to embrace now when it comes to “finding your new place in the world at large.”

Taurus Rising: Tenth House

Career - Public Visibility - Life Purpose

An ending or unrooting in your career might be taking place now as Pluto requires you to adjust your overall life goal and even earning capabilities to the changing times. For example: You might be leaving your corporate job to launch your own business due to an undeniable desire for your work to make a true impact. If you do decide to stay at a regular job, you might experience jealousy and control issues with colleagues or higher-ups.

Because this is an angular house, your ambition gets stronger and stronger with this placement because Pluto’s influence won’t allow you to “just work to make a living.” Your desire for success and power might become incredibly strong, but you must only act from a place of full integrity now.

Gemini Rising: Ninth House

Life Philosophy - Spirituality - Learning

You, out of all zodiac signs, will have mind-shattering experiences as your entire belief system transforms, surprising even yourself! Outdated beliefs about life, the people around you, and even your place in the world collapse now to make way for new ways of seeing life.

Since this is a “learning & study” house, you might even become obsessed with a new subject that you might decide to “perfect” your knowledge around. This deep dive into a new subject (think writing a book or launching a podcast) could be your new way of “reaching the masses.” Traveling and studying become your vehicles for personal evolution and might even bring you profound and intense life experiences with other people.

Cancer Rising: Eight House

Intimacy - Transformation - Partner’s Money

Since this is a money house, there can be financial changes that alter your life considerably for better or for worse. However, they are most likely related to a romantic partner.

You are graduating from Pluto opposing your sign since 2008, so in a way, there is little that you can’t master during this time. You will continue to evolve through your relationships, but this time, it’s only thought the most intimate type. This is especially true if you are in a serious or committed partnership. Perhaps one of you dives deeply into healing, prompting the other one to do the same. Together, you might decide to explore esoteric practices and even begin doing “couple’s counseling.” In the end, this transit teaches you how to truly relate intimately.

Leo Rising: Seventh House

Relationships - Marriage - Contracts - Business partners

“Relationships are mirrors” becomes your mantra now! Your relationships with everyone you deal with one-on-one (partner, astrologer, coach, therapist, personal trainer) will intensify. Prepare to experience power struggles that push your limits and expose the dark sides of your personality that have not yet come to the surface before. Basically what you notice “hating” about others now is deeply rooted in a part of your personality that is seeking deep change and evolution. In this way, the concept of “projection” becomes your biggest teacher and vehicle for personal evolution.

Issues around jealousy, possessiveness, control, and obsession can become the norm now within romantic or sexual relationships. The highest vibration of this transit is finding healing through deep sexual experiences.

Virgo Rising: Sixth House

Work - Life Processes - Wellness

Your “routine” will experience major but slow shifts that will reflect in the way you do everything—from doing your laundry to the way you produce work and make money. Due to this being a “work house,” you might need freedom in your schedule due to an obsession with wanting to control your own schedule.

The area of health and wellness becomes important now as Pluto exposes any negative habits that might be affecting your health. To the extreme, you might even become obsessed with wellness trends! If you suffer from chronic pain, Pluto could help you get to the heart of the matter. Hypnotherapy—a Plutonian type of therapy—could now work wonders when it comes to overcoming it.

Libra Rising: Fifth House

Romance - Creativity - Fun - Children

The way you seek to experience fun and play will transform you now and your romantic relationships will become powerful! From now on, saying “We’re just dating” will no longer do because you crave intensity and depth in your romantic affairs. You might also find a new desire to mingle with mysterious characters whom you barely cared about before. However, watch out for obsessions, jealousies, and betrayals now, as Pluto tends to bring “powerful people” your way.

The highest vibration of this transit would be to make a career of a creative hobby, for example. Since Pluto is about power, your creativity could become your superpower and even take you to inconceivable heights!

Scorpio Rising: Fourth House

Home - Family - Roots - Foundations

You’re in for quite a ride, Scorpio! You are already very Plutonian, so if you embrace the healing influence of Pluto, you can transform your life in a majorly positive way! The thing is: Pluto exposes the shadow—and in this case, it will expose any unhealed and unresolved baggage (or even trauma) that might be oscillating around childhood, family, and ancestry. What’s powerful about this transit is that the healing you do for yourself could even heal your ancestry line, which is priceless!

There is an energetic clearing (regrets, feelings of victimization, the past), which calls for an emotional, mental, and even physical clearing as well. For this reason, removing your space from any old or unwanted possessions tells the universe you are ready to begin letting go of the old.

Sagittarius Rising: Third House

Communication - Speech - Siblings - Transportation

Pluto will change the way you think and feel about those who are physically closest to you—your neighbors, siblings, and even roommates. Prepare for previously hidden information being revealed during this long time period.

You will notice your communication style becoming slower and much more profound, as your listening abilities will become much more profound! You will be able to read between the lines to the point of analyzing deeply every piece of information you receive. If you’ve been wanting to learn something new, this is the moment to go for it! You might also decide to take on serious studies, like a Master’s Degree or certification that can guide you in deepening your knowledge.

Capricorn Rising: Second House

Money - Resources - Budget - Personal Values

At some point in the past fifteen years, you took control of your life, Capricorn. Now, it’s time to take control—and develop true mastery— of your finances! If you have debt, for example, Pluto could help you eradicate it. This could happen by you discovering a dormant talent that makes you money. Alternatively, if you have any control issues regarding money or material possessions, Pluto will bring lessons around that, too. For this reason, practicing true detachment from material possessions is key now.

Your value system will also experience a radical overhaul, most likely making you more open-minded. You could abandon traditional ways of thinking for more upgraded ways of seeing relationships—especially of the intimate kind. After all, Aquarius is the sign of the future!

Aquarius Rising: First House

Identity - Self-image - The Body - Approach to Life

Deep inner changes that eventually reflect on the outside as you feel a deep need to search for meaning in life. Your approach to life intensifies due to external factors asking you to get in touch with your inner power. If you’ve been thinking about making big changes in your life but haven’t dared, Pluto will push you to act now—and there is no way back as a “new identity” begins to emerge.

Since Pluto is opposing the seventh house of relationships, many of your connections will mirror back at you what needs “fixing” or “analyzed” about your personality. When people seem to exert their power or will over you, you will be pushed to “take your power back.”

Pisces Rising: Twelfth House

The Subconscious Mind - Spirituality - Healing - Secrets

Since Pluto unearths everything that lies beneath the surface, prepare for big secrets to be revealed! Past events that you didn’t get to fully process come out during this long transit. You will get a closer look at your fears and the real reasons behind your actions as previously hidden information comes to light. This can be an incredibly healing journey if you work with the subconscious mind by exploring therapy, hypnotherapy, dream work, and Tarot.

The Carl Jung mantra: “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate” rings true here. Unveiling, accepting, and integrating your shadow is the vibe here and what you must focus on now by spending more time alone and analyzing yourself.
